On September 13th, at 6:15 am, Ryan, my mom and I arrived at Davis Hospital. I started labor around 7:00 am and that was just so much fun, at least it was after the epidural and before the oxygen mask. The nurse took about 20 years trying to find both of their heartbeats, which was pretty difficult because they were practically the same and they were so close together in there. Anywho, all that got worked out and my doctor came and broke my water, which was easily one of the weirdest experiences of my life. We played Phase 10 and watched The Matrix and then the babies heart rates went down a little and they put me on oxygen. Then around 2:00 pm they checked me out and I was almost dilated to a 10!

They had to do the delivery in an operating room just in case anything went wrong, so only Ryan was able to go with me. He had to put on this really super sexy outfit. After we all laughed at him a lot, they wheeled me into the operation room.

It was really cold in there, and I was pretty nervous, but I didn't really have a lot of time to think about it because then they had me start pushing. After about 5 contractions Nicholas' head came out and she pulled out the rest of him and it was amazing! I was really proud of Ryan doing so well. The whole pregnancy he hasn't been able to decide if he would watch them come out or not, and I didn't want him to throw up or pass out or anything. He just looked so happy about everything though, and it was really nice to have him right there. After 2 more contractions and 7 minutes Eric came out and there is nothing like the feelings of all of that.

I only pushed for maybe 15 minutes total. Everything just went so amazingly well! In the picture Nicholas is on the left and Eric on the right.

It was a crazy adrenaline rush and my blood pressure went psycho for a while and I felt kind of sick, but it was worth it! So now you get a bunch of cute pictures and a video of our new babies!
Nicholas on the left again and Eric on the right :) Nicholas was 5 lbs 12 oz and 19.5 in, Eric was 6 lbs 9 0z. and 20 in. At first we kept getting them mixed up, even though they really do look very different and we had to keep reminding ourselves, "Nick is blonde, Eric has brown hair." Over and over again...ha.
